Tasting Notes
I've been singing the praises of this estate for years and they continue to deliver the goods, even in challenging vintages such as 2021. Coming from 100% Merlot and a tiny one-hectare vineyard located across from Clinet, it sports a vivid purple hue as well as gorgeous cassis and assorted blue fruits, notes of violets and spice, medium to full body, good mid-palate density, and velvety tannins. It's one sexy wine, and this is one of the few wines I was able to use that adjective for! Count me impressed – I'd be happy to own bottles.

A solid young wine with plums, dark cherries and a hint of coffee. Medium to full body with a beautiful finish. Tannic and solid.
The 2021 Enclos Tourmaline is pure Merlot cropped at 25.5hL/ha and presents a perfumed bouquet of dark cherries, blueberry and violet. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine acidity and good depth and density. There is just a touch of rusticity on the finish, but it should meld together during barrel maturation in 100% new oak.
The 2021 Enclos Tourmaline (made from 100% Merlot) is deep garnet-purple colored and charges out with notes of blueberry compote and stewed black plums, followed by wafts of wild sage, damp soil, tar and tobacco. Medium-bodied, the palate is coated with expressive black fruits, supported by rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing earthy. Yields were 25.5 hl/ha.
