Score 90/100 · Antonio Galloni, Vinous
Oberto's 2013 Barolo possesses mid-weight structure, bright acidity and good overall depth. Crushed flowers, sweet red cherries, mint and white pepper are nicely delineated throughout. My sense is that the 2013 is still recovering from its mid-August bottling. Even so, it is very nicely done. Time in the glass helps the wine fill out a bit while the fruit gains depth and the tannins, acidity and overall structure become more vivid. The 2013 is an attractive, forward to drink over the next handful of years, not to mention a terrific entry-level bottling. Feb 2017, www.vinous.com, Drink: 2017-2021
