2012 Barolo San Stefano Perno

The 2012 Barolo Perno revealed an open and fleshy personality when I sampled it. This points to the warmth of the 2012 vintage. With fruit harvested closer to the winery in Monforte d'Alba, this Barolo initially shows a dry personality with pressed tones of wild berry and red rose petal. It also reveals a fluid or flexible side, which means the wine takes on more volume quite rapidly once poured from the bottle.
