The question is - did I under-rate the 2011 Bourgogne Aligote a couple of years ago? Maybe so. This has a lovely popcorn and brioche-tinged nose that is beautifully defined and vibrant. The palate has a little spiciness emanating from the grape variety, wonderful balance and poise, seemingly gaining weight over the last couple of years. Utterly delicious and polished off far too quickly! Oct 2015, www.robertparker.com

Auvenay
Domaine d’Auvenay is part of the Leroy empire (along with Domaine Leroy and Maison Leroy). It is named after Lalou Bize-Leroy’s home, an old hunting lodge outside Saint-Romain in the hills above Auxey-Duresses, which she shared with her husband Marcel until he passed away in 2004.
