Tasting Notes
Dark for the vintage, with a chunky, violet floral nose. There is some energy here. Rich and plush in the mouth, though by no means heavy. Some richesse and a touch of spice then some lovely lift in the finish. Chambolle-esque in the finish: Amoureuses if I’m going to be precise. Velvety, plush and mouthfilling. Cashmere. This is lovely. Joss Fowler, FINE+RARE, April 2014.

An unquestionable star of the vintage, this 18-acre vineyard is near Trotanoy, Latour a Pomerol and Clinet. The wine is made from 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Only 50% of the production made it into the Grand Vin label. Surprisingly it sports a lofty 13.4% natural alcohol. Deep ruby/purple, with notes of plum, blackcurrant, black cherry, incense and camphor, the wine shows surprising depth, a reasonably broad, succulent mouthfeel and a luscious, impressive finish. This is atypically rich, juicy and succulent for a 2013. Drink it over the next decade or more. Wine Advocate.August, 2014

About the producer
Jeremy Chasseuil took back control of his family estate in 2000. Prior to this the vines and wine were managed by the Moueix group (owners of Château La Fleur-Pétrus, Château Hossana and Château Trotanoy).
