Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Mar 2014

Dark colour. From two different vineyards. Clean and lifted nose of typical Barolo fruit. Excellent poise. And clean and impeccably pure in the mouth with some broody fruit underneath the polish. This is all here, all in the right place and very, very good.

Aromas of dark fruit and tar follow through to a full body, with chewy tannins and juicy fruit. Hints of toasted oak as well. Needs at least three to four years to come around. Apr 2014, JamesSuckling.com

Ferruccio Grimaldi’s 2010 Barolo opens to a dark, slightly veiled appearance with thick streak of garnet and dark ruby in its muted color. The wine shows simple lines and slightly muddled aromas of dark cherry, tobacco and cola. What the wine lacks in definition, it makes up for in intensity and power. A note of sour cherry appears on the close. Drink: 2015-2022. Jun 2014, www.robertparker.com
