Tasting Notes
A markedly floral nose exhibits a broad array of spice and red and dark berry fruit aromas that include plum, cassis and earth. There is excellent detail and plenty of punch to the mineral-inflected flavors that are shaped by ultra-refined tannins on the balanced and gorgeously persistent finish. This is not super dense but the harmony and transparency are terrific and the perfect balance suggests that this will mature over a very long time. Tasted: Jan 15, 2014. Drink: 2027+

The 2012 Clos des Lambrays has a slighty lighter bouquet than the nascent 2013: tertiary red berry fruit that is nicely defined though in need of a little more vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins: notes of mulberry and dark plum with a smooth, slightly lactic on the finish. This is not a bad Clos des Lambrays and yet I am convinced that the 2013 will turn out to be the better Grand Cru in the long run. eRobertParker.com.June, 2015
