About the wines of Condrieu
Just to the south of Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu is the most famous region in the world for Viognier, along with the monopole appellation Château Grillet, a tiny area within Condrieu. The climate is warm and dry, and the soils are made up of chalky, flinty mica with a granite base, which helps the grapes reach their full potential. Aromatic and peachy, the Viognier from this Northern Rhône region is renowned for its spicy, floral characteristics.
