The vineyards of the Northern Rhône lie south of the gastronomic capital of Lyon and follow the course of the Rhône river to Vienne. Despite accounting for just 5% of the Rhône’s wine production, the villages and towns of its 45-mile length have become world famous.

The northern half of the Rhône is best known for the exotic, voluptuous whites of Condrieu and spicy, savoury Syrah from Côte-Rôtie, Cornas and Hermitage. These dramatically steep slopes line the Rhône river, demanding back-breaking labour by hand to farm these extraordinary vineyards.
