Vineyards around the hilltop town of Montalcino produce exquisite expressions of Sangiovese, made with the local clone Brunello. The wines fall under the Brunello di Montalcino appellation and are some of Tuscany’s most exciting, often compared to the finest wines from Chianti Classico.
