Tasting Notes
The fruit for this wine comes from two different plots in the vineyard – one at the top and one at the bottom. Dominique Lafon and his son Guillaume farm the vineyards and supervise the entire production. Less than 10% new oak is used for the élevage. It’s hard to know what to say beyond the fact that this is a gorgeous wine, one that is very Dominique Lafon in style. Cool aromas of lemon peel mingle with a mineral quality, creamy tones and fresh acidity. It’s impressively concentrated with unctuous white fruit, long and persistent with a touch of minerality. A stunning wine.

Picked 1st September. Pale to mid yellow. A lifted crunchy hillside aroma with lots of energy on the palate too. Ripe but still fresh apples, then opens out generously behind, with enough acidity.

About the producer
Having established Domaine des Comtes Lafon as one of the finest addresses in Burgundy, Dominique Lafon set up an eponymous négociant business in 2008. The vines are all farmed by the Lafon team and the wines generally leaner than those of Comtes Lafon, with less new oak.
