Tasting Notes
The jewel in their crown, Drouhin’s Montrachet comes from five different parcels across the vineyard. The result is a remarkable Chardonnay that is evidence, if it were needed, of why this site is regarded as the pinnacle for the grape. The wine offers instant concentration. The nose combines spicy depth and sweet white peach with honey and brighter lemon, while the palate is deliciously fleshy and full. Generous it might be, but there’s a tight core here, with the wine yet to reveal everything it has to give. The finish is a journey – evolving through mineral and zesty tones to more savoury, spicy notes. A really gorgeous wine, with impressive balance.

Glowing mid lemon. The nose is quite restrained. The majesty of the Montrachet builds slowly on the palate with a fine thread of acidity to keep the intensity of fruit in place. All in white fruit, much less exotic, not yet really showing all its paces, so expect much more from this later on in its life. The length shows that it will happen.
