Coming from vines located between Malartic and Chevalier, the 2023 Château Haut-Bergey has beautiful red fruits, dried herbs, spicy, and loamy earth notes in its medium-bodied, nicely textured, balanced profile. It has some firmer tannins on the finish, but I suspect those will resolve nicely over the course of its élevage. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

Using less oak for the aging, the wine shows more elegance, with additional purity in its character. The wine is soft, fruity, ripe, and elegant, with a smoky edge to the cherries in the finish.

The 2023 Haut-Bergey is deep garnet-purple in color. It offers up notes of baked blackberries and stewed black cherries, giving way to an undercurrent of dried herbs, graphite, and raspberry leaves. Medium-bodied, the palate is lightly chewy, with savory-laced black fruit layers and a soft-spoken finish.

This is a juicy and savory red with ripe blue-fruit and violet aromas. It’s medium-bodied with supple tannins. Good concentration of fruit. Fine finish.
