Tasting Notes
Very aromatic, this is the most expressive of Alvina Pernot’s trio of Meursault at this stage. The wine has great body and structure, it’s complex, rich and packed with a lovely combination of fruit and florals. The texture is gorgeous, with a really elegant mouth-feel. This has everything needed to age beautifully, yet should be approachable relatively young. Around a third saw new oak, with six barrels produced. The 2022 labels are one-offs, including a dedication to their son Pâris, who was born on 1st January 2022.

Once again there is marked floral quality to the well-layered nose that speaks mainly of various ripe white orchard fruit, hazelnut and lemon zest aromas. There is both better volume and richness to the beautifully textured larger-bodied flavors that exude a subtle bead of minerality on the overtly powerful and seriously persistent if youthfully austere finale. Note that this excellent effort has the stuffing to repay a decade plus of cellaring. Warmly recommended. Drink 2032+
This vibrant wine has expressive aromas of green apple, lemon peel, hawthorn flowers, and hazelnut. The texture is elegant and fine, with impressive freshness given the heat of the vintage that carries the wine to a rewardingly long finish. There are six barrels this year that come from an exchange with another vigneron. The wines are aged in older barrels with most of their lees but without stirring to maximise freshness.
Pale colour. A firm and slightly chunky nose. There is plenty of volume here with a chiselled and concentrated white fruit, plenty of energy, fair length, backward and in its firmer style. Typical of its site and with excellent potential. The Poruzot has the excitement which I did not quite find in the Charmes.
