Tasting Notes
This village Puligny-Montrachet comes from a plot that is an extension of Alvina Pernot and Philippe Abadie’s garden, just east of Enseignières. It’s a real step-up from the Saint-Aubin wines. The nose is elegant, with a density and weight of fruit on the palate, while retaining freshness. A little shy at first, the wine reveals its length with air. Really impressive for a village wine. Nine barrels were made in 2022. The 2022 labels are one-offs, including a dedication to their son Pâris, who was born on 1st January 2022.

This is aromatically similar to the La Rue aux Vaches with perhaps just a bit of citrus influence. The succulent, delicious and slightly more vibrant middle weight flavors possess a bit more refinement as well on the attractively complex, clean, dry and impeccably well-balanced finale. This is an excellent Puligny villages that should repay 6 to 8 years of bottle aging and well-worth your interest. Drink 2029+
The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Clos des Noyers Brets has more concentration and depth on the nose than the La Rue Aux Vaches: wonderful, delineated scents of crushed stone, white flower and a hint of peach skin. The palate is fresh and saline on the entry, maybe more lime-infused than the last vintage. It is pretty malic towards the finish, which sustains longer than some of its peers. Impressive for a Village Cru.
A pale lemon colour, offering a discreet, elegant bouquet. There is plenty happening on the palate with some lime, some greengage, some orchard fruit, and excellent grip. This really kicks on at the finish. Made with precision.
