Tasting Notes
This is also aromatically quite floral with cool and wonderfully pure aromas of red currant, cherry and a beguiling array of spice elements. Once again there is a lovely texture to the precise and vibrant middleweight flavors that culminate in a compact, youthfully austere and like Pertuisots typically has, a mildly rustic finish. A strong effort from this lesser-spotted premier cru, the 2021 Beaune 1er Cru Pertuisots delivers aromas of dark berries, raw cocoa, orange rind and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate with good tension and persistence.
The 2021 Beaune Pertuisots 1er Cru includes one-third stems and has a complex, alluring, sous-bois tinged bouquet that unfurls gracefully in the glass. The palate is very composed, harmonious and silky smooth. The stems impart a subtle pepperiness on the finish. Wonderful. Beaune doesn't get much better.
One third whole bunch vinification. Bright ripe cherries, darker raspberry. A complete and compelling bouquet. There is such energy behind too, on the palate but above all the fruit fills the mouth in a gorgeously gracious style, with just the right refined tannic structure to finish.
