Tasting Notes
The fruit for this great-value cuvée comes from cooler vineyards on the limits of the Bourgogne appellation in Nantoux, Saint-Romain and Nuits-Saint-Georges, classified as Coteaux Bourguignons (a classification more often associated with reds). The wine is mainly Chardonnay, however there’s a sprinkling of Aligoté (8% in 2020) adding extra zip. The nose is instantly appealing with beautiful purity of fruit – crisp pear and lemon, with waxy complexity. On the palate, minerality streaks through a wash of grapefruit and lemon pith. Aged in old 600-litre oak, this is a vibrant, fresh white with a surprisingly long, herbal-scented finish.
