Tasting Notes
Bottled only in magnum, the 2020 Meursault Genevrières-Dessus 1er Cru has a more pithy and minerally bouquet than the regular Genevrieres, wet limestone and touches of grilled walnut. The palate is very well balanced with a discrete reduction, lemon zest and orange zest, though I was just seeking more mineralité on the finish. Fine. Closure: Diam

From Leroux vines, 2 x 300 litre barrels, recent but not new wood, not yet racked and will only be offered in magnum. Quite different in bouquet from the other Leroux Genevrires, less oak effect, quite electric fruit, impeccable density, more classically Genevrires in style. This beautiful wine displays significant intensity all the way through to the delicious, almost savoury, long finish, infused with a little ripe lemon.
Benjamin Leroux's Le Dessous and Le Dessus are two completely separate cuvées; this is Dessous on clay soils. Cask sample. Mid lemon; lemon, apple, peach; generous and quite rich.
