Tasting Notes
Boillot’s fruit comes from En Orveaux – the northernmost lieu-dit in this Grand Cru, in the combe. This section has very little topsoil, producing a fine-boned style of Echezeaux. It’s intense and dark-fruited at this stage, with a stylish cloaking of subtle oak here – adding polish to the juicy dark cherry and bramble fruit alongside a line of fresh acidity.

No doubting the density of the colour here. High toned and exciting, benefits from the cooler site of en Orveaux. Redcurrant and raspberry with fine intensity and good acidity, tannins nowhere to be seen. Lightest whiff of volatile but below any worrying threshold.
