Tasting Notes
Dictador Master Blender Hernan Parra has selected another superlative partner for the tenth 2 Masters edition. Sherry specialist and iconic winery Ximénez-Spinola was given the freedom to finish the vintage Colombian rum as they wished. The resulting liquid is a 45-year-old blended rum, matured for 13 months in Pedro Ximénez barrels. It is remarkably rich, woody, and rather profound. The long ageing is immediately apparent on the nose: notes of dark walnut, furniture polish and almost a moss-like quality are elevated by pistachio nuts, luxurious Christmas cake, salted caramel and a gardenia impression. The palate is characterised by its sumptuous texture; an elegant oiliness frames tropical fruits and dark chocolate, which give way to an almost game-like savoury complexity. The finish lingers on, leaving a perception of nutmeg and black pepper warmth.
