Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Feb 2021

The classical 2018 vintage is particularly suited to the Darioush style, accentuating the natural grace and relative restraint of the wines. The 2018 Signature Cabernet is an elegant and coquettish wine in its youth. Showing pretty restraint on the nose, with spicy red and black fruit, dusty dried earth and sweet liquorice, this is nothing like a shouty Napa Cab. With air, it takes on more depth and layers of velvety chocolate emerge, while the fruit stays pure and poised – becoming more distinctly blackberry and blackcurrant focused. On the palate, there’s a core of juicy fruit, surrounded by fine-grained tannins, good acidity and a clean, satin-like finish. Approachable now, this is sure to reveal more personality with time in bottle.
