Tasting Notes
Le Charmois is a Saint-Aubin Premier Cru that neighbours Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Chaumées, close to the famed En Remilly. It is a very steep, east-facing slope with little topsoil, producing wines with a distinct, saline, mineral pungency. The wine is already in a beautiful place. Clean, refined and pure on the nose, there’s an inviting intensity and mouth-watering acidity. The oak is beautifully integrated, with a mineral streak underlining the fruit. On the palate, it really blossoms, developing a level of savoury weight. Layers of patisseries, green apple and apricot mingle with a splash of wet-slate minerality. The wine has a long refreshing finish and is extremely moreish. Drink now to 2030.
