Tasting Notes
The 2019 Los Parientes Chardonnay is starting to show the first signs of development with honeyed, citrus aromas and dried fruit tones. The palate remains clean and taut, very fresh with lime fruit flavours and structurally vertical in style. There is a contrasting mix of sweet, honeyed fruit and sharp acidity on the finish.
This is handsomely austere on the nose at first – very mineral, with subtle and elegant citrus fruit and white flowers. It warms up and softens with air, revealing hints of sweeter vanilla and baked bread, revealing the judicious oak. The racy acidity and superb tension lend it great energy. This is classic and elegant, yet with a real sense of place thanks to the cool, juicy fruit and mineral line. Lovely

Lean and mouthwatering, with an oyster-shell minerality, a lingering dry finish and notes of white blossom and sourdough. A poised cool-climate wine that delivers finesse and purity. Impressive.
The 2019 Chardonnay Baettig Vino de Viñedo Los Parientes, from Malleco, Traiguén, was aged for 11 months in 400-liter French barrels, 16% new. Yellow with a golden sheen. The nose delivers green apple, yeast, pear zest, linden blossom and acacia over a bed of almonds. Slightly austere in the mouth, it is linear and well-packaged, with a heightened, vibrant acidity (pH 3) that combines deliciously with the texture.
Shows plenty of opulence and depth with dried apples, pears, honey and some lemons. Apple pie, too. Full-bodied and layered with beautiful intensity and flavor. Drink or hold.
