FINE+RARE, Feb 2021
Musar’s 2014, a blend of Cabernet, Cinsault and Carignan, is fantastically aromatic – offering an expressive and warming medley of orange peel, clove, rose, blackberry, plum and chocolate. On the palate, the tannins are satin-like but with an initially tight, peppery grip that slowly resolves on a long finish with wonderful freshness and a velvety sweetness. Tasting it again the next day, the plushness of the fruit really comes to the fore, with marzipan, dried fruit and liquorice notes. This is a gorgeously perfumed rendition of Chateau Musar – super polished and very generous.
