Tasting Notes
The 2014 Chambertin Grand Cru is slightly deeper in color than the Clos-de-Beze, dark berry fruit laced with soy, undergrowth, a splash of Hoisin and truffle - all very complex. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe black fruit, gently gripping the mouth, a cheeky touch of Szechuan pepper leaving the senses tingling long after it has departed. This is a lovely Chambertin, although perhaps the Clos-de-Beze has the edge in terms of its sheer class. Apr 2016, www.robertparker.com
