Tasting Notes
"Rich and spicy, almost Châteauneuf nose. Weight and sweet spicy, balsamic fruit follow in the mouth and there is a poise and lift to this, a balance, that belies the price point. The finish is perfect: a hint of savoury and herby character follows the fruit. This is very, very good. Decant this and tell your guests it’s Châteauneuf. Excellent.”

A wine that always over delivers is the 2014 Cotes du Rhone Villages. A blend of 50% Grenache, 25% Mourvedre, 20% Syrah and 5% Carignan, it offers classic, mulled dark fruits, toasted spice, earth and some background meatiness to go with a medium-bodied, mouth-filling, fruit forward style on the palate. It will be hard to resist over the coming 3-4 years. Oct 2015, www.robertparker.com
