Tasting Notes
The second wine of La Mission Haut-Brion, the 2013 La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion was the result of a relatively severe selection. It is slightly rustic with high acids that give the wine a tart character. This is almost as much made of this wine as La Mission, because of the challenges of the harvest. Crisp, elegant pomegranate and red cherry notes, high acid and a narrowly constructed mouthfeel emerge from this pleasant, easygoing wine. Drink it over the next 5-8 years. Wine Advocate.August, 2014

The 2013 La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion is a blend of 52% Merlot, 12.5% Cabernet Franc and 35.5% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a reticent bouquet at first with blackberry, blood orange and touches of spice. The palate is medium-bodied with a surprising grip in the mouth, moderate weight, a little austerity to contend with at the beginning, seguing into a rather foursquare but still attractive "classic" finish. You could drink this now, but it will continue to drink well over the next decade. Oct 2016, www.robertparker.com
