Score 92-95/100 · Antonio Galloni, Vinous
The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Saint-Jacques is flat-out beautiful. There is plenty of 2010 richness in the glass, yet the wine also has elements of finesse and gracefulness to balance some of its more overt qualities. Dark red cherries, menthol, mint, cinnamon and licorice are woven together beautifully in this delineated, finely sculpted wine. There is a centeredness and poise to the Clos Saint-Jacques that is compelling. The integration of the 100% new oak barrels is masterful. Esmonin used 100% whole clusters here. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. Feb 2012, www.robertparker.com
