Tasting Notes
Rich, ripe fruit. Ripe mouthfeel of lime with fruit that is soft and good. Very good. Drink 5-10 years. Decanter.com

Rich, with loads of tobacco, berry, currant and coffee. Full-bodied and round, with velvety tannins and a long, vanilla aftertaste. If this had a tiny bit more concentration in the center palate, it would be a few points more. Still, it's an outstanding wine. A generous and opulent Mouton. Best after 2009. 21,215 cases made. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2003.
Another rather vexing performance of the millennial Mouton. My main complaint is the dominance of oak on the nose that is smothering the sense of terroir and the delineation one would expect. The palate is medium-bodied with good balance, quite cohesive and yet lacking the tension and precision one would have hoped for. It develops some attractive mulberry and plumy notes with time in glass, but it is a First Growth that never really takes off. Tasted February 2011. Neal Martin, eRobertParker.com
Dark, glowing ruby. Notably toasty nose - odd for a first growth! Easy to like for its sweetness and toastiness. This does not seem to have first growth subtlety - though it does have that snazzy heavy bottle with the gold sheep engraved on it... Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com
