Tasting Notes
Loads of toasted oak on this one, with very ripe fruit character. Full-bodied, and very concentrated, yet the tannins are round and creamy. Smoky finish. Exciting stuff here. Best Canon in a long, long time. Best after 2010. – James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2003

Some brightness in the ruby. Quite a youthful, 'pointed', sharp nose without much development yet. Rich and sweet and with more than a hint of dark chocolate, this leaps up and down for attention. The acid and tannin are still a little jagged, in modern idiom. Very savoury finish. Firm and still on the way up. www.jancisrobinson.com, 18 Mar 2010
This elegant St.-Emilion has filled out nicely over the last decade. From barrel and post-bottling, I thought it might turn out austere, but that does not appear to be the case. It offers a deep ruby/purple color as well as copious aromas of black cherries, crushed rocks, and earthy undertones. While not a blockbuster, it is beautifully balanced and pure, revealing slightly more depth and richness than I expected. Drink it now and over the next 10-15 years. Jun 2010, www.robertparker.com
