The gorgeous 2010 Haut Batailley is a fairly deep ruby colour with intense aromas of violets cassis, blackberries and plums. This is a wine with supple tannins and generous flavours made in an exuberant style that, unlike many other 2010s, will be ready to be enjoy fairly young. Owned by Xavier Borie, with improvements made over the past several years, this is a very balanced and generous 5th growth from Pauillac. asianpalate.com
Haut Batailey From 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the Borie family produced a wine that offers spicy cassis aromas, depth of flavor and a finish of ripe black and red fruits. winecellarinsider.com
An impressive intensity of fruit here, with blueberries and lemon character. Full and very well-integrated, with ultra-fine tannins and a long, long finish. Better than 2000? jamessuckling.com
