Tasting Notes
Notes of sweet oak and dark ripe fruit on the nose, slightly floral and gamey. A lovely balance maintained throughout the palate, with layers of ripe rounded tannins. Dark and quite substantial, well-structured by acidity, very appealing. A wine with great potential that offers superb value.

Grand Mayne’s 2005 (a blend of 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon) is a sexy, fleshy St.-Emilion with a dense ruby/purple color and loads of blueberry, cassis and black raspberry fruit. It is medium to full-bodied, luscious, and already drinkable, although capable of lasting another 10-15 years.
This has a ripe nose with blackberry, liquorice and a hint of minerals. A tannic palate, nice grip, well balanced with ripe plum and mulberry. Chocolaty finish – good personality with very good weight. Showy and decadent as always.
