FINE+RARE, Oct 2024
This was a real standout from our tasting at Robert Ampeau. It’s dark and brooding on the nose – with dark muddled fruit mingling with earthy tones, yet with Lavières’s trademark floral aromas still shining through. The palate offers a twist of vibrant red fruit, fine-boned and fresh, with mouthwatering acidity that complements the velvet tannins. Long, with a savoury finish, this is a gorgeous wine.

About the producer
Robert Ampeau
The epitome of old-school Burgundy, the Meursault-based Domaine Robert Ampeau crafts traditional wines, both red and white. Today run by Michel Ampeau, the property’s wines are – unlike most producers today – only released when they are ready to drink, often with 20-plus years in bottle.
