Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Nov 2023
The nose on the Clos de Vougeot is rather discreet compared to the Charmes-Chambertin, the fruit present, but was a little closed when we tasted it. The palate, however, is rich with firm, drying tannins, countered by the powerful core of deep red-berry fruit. You can feel the generosity of the vintage with the mouth-coating structure and long, full finish. This is great, but needs some serious cellar ageing before broaching.
