Tasting Notes
This Charmes-Chambertin comes from over-50-year-old vines in Charmes “proper”. It’s refined, fresh and elegant with delicately crushed raspberries and redcurrant notes. The silky and fine tannins on the palate are beautiful, in harmony with the well-integrated oak (50% new for this cuvée), and there is a superb nerve of acidity driving toward a gentle bouquet of more red fruit on the persistent finish. This medium-bodied Grand Cru is fantastic, another expertly sourced wine by Nicolas Potel.
