Tasting Notes
The Chambertin, tasted just after the Griotte-Chambertin, seems powerful and rich. As with the Griotte, this is sourced from very old vines. It’s open aromatically, with well-defined raspberry fruit, cedar and crushed blackberries. This Chambertin possesses huge, multi-dimensional intensity, yet retains impressive freshness and minerality, with tannins that are bold but precise. The unctuous finish, dense and linear, foretells a great future for this well-made Grand Cru. Only three barrels were made.
