Tasting Notes
A Cabernet blend with a dash of local Sangiovese, the first vintage from Castello di Solomeo has pristine fruit clarity. The cassis, blackberry and earthy, black cherry fruit flavours are complemented by smoky, lightly spiced, toasted oak notes, adding depth, density and a textural layering of the tannins. It is very elegant and balanced, not overly structured, with silky fine tannins which are impressively integrated at this youthful stage. It has Tuscany’s signature freshness too, emphasised by the lift of Sangiovese, giving the wine great vitality and vibrancy. An impressive debut for this exciting new estate from Brunello Cucinelli.
