Tasting Notes
With the domaine based in Chévannes in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Duband’s Louis Auguste cuvée (named after his son) is arguably the domaine’s most important. The wine comes from higher-altitude sites and some of the domaine’s oldest vines (over 55 years in age). In 2020 it is ripe and dark-fruited – a red-berried twist to the juicy bramble fruit, and backed by wonderful freshness. It’s crunchy with chalky-textured tannins that beautifully frame the fruit. The finish is long and vibrant with a wash of saline freshness.
