Tasting Notes
Few words generate as much buzz as Macallan and mizunara in the whisky world. One is a highly-sought after incredibly well-respected Scotch whisky, the other is a very rare oak used to make some of the most expensive casks in the world. East Asia Whisky Company chose a 30-year-old Macallan, distilled in 1989 and matured in ex-Bourbon casks, for its mizunara finish. The single malt spent between 18 and 24 months in the cask made from 200-year-old Japanese oak before it was bottled. The resulting liquid sings with the coconut, sandalwood and incense notes you expect from this rare Japanese oak.
