Tasting Notes
Two Chablis Grands Crus are new to the line up of Charles van Canneyt’s négoce bottlings, and they both really impressed us. There’s no oak here, but the concentration of the vintage shines through in this rich, weighty wine, a real contrast to the Vaudésir. There’s a real depth of pear fruit and a super marine mineral thread that runs through the wine, while delicate florals dance on the nose. It’s got line and length, zip and drive – delicious, and it’s almost incredible how reasonably priced Chablis remains, even at the Grand Cru level.
