Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, May 2016

Having tasted this in the office and been utterly blown away by its quality, I wanted to make sure you didn't miss the brilliant Biondi Santi Rosato di Toscana 2012. Made by one of Italy’s finest producers, this is easily a candidate for the world’s best rosé and the 2012 is true to excellent form. A complex, serious, structured and utterly delicious wine, Always a firm favourite with our clients, Biondi Santi’s Rosato is almost peerless. Made from 100% Sangiovese, it combines the youthful, vibrant side of Tuscany’s flagship grape with incredible structure and poise, making it a standard bearer for rosé wines. It is also rare. With a microscopic production of less than 500 dozen per vintage, supplies are very scarce, meaning that few get the chance to own and drink this. A shame, given just how good it is. A beautiful salmon pink with aromas of red fruit, bruised apple and spice leaping from the glass. Refreshing acidity, delightfully integrated into the fruit with surprisingly complex tannins and excellent length. Delicious.
