Tasting Notes
Family-owned Speyside distillery Glenfarclas is one of only a handful of producers in Scotland to remain independent. Initially released to mark their 180th anniversary of licensed distillation, this 40-Year-Old is a remarkable single malt. Crystal-clear spring water is combined with the finest malted barley before it is twice-distilled in traditional, direct-fired copper pot stills. Two-thirds of the new-make is matured in Sherry casks and the remaining third slumbers in plain oak casks. Forty years later, the resulting liquid is autumn gold and deliciously complex.
