Tasting Notes
Ready for delivery and fresh from the Chapoutier stable comes our best-selling Rosé from last year - the Grand Ferrage St Victoire by the brilliant Mathilde Chapoutier. With this in mind we were expecting big things when we tried the 2017 a couple of weeks ago and I’m pleased to say it didn’t disappoint. With summer on the horizon we thought you would like a case or two, they’re available at £150 per 12 bottles in bond and we have a few cases of magnums too. Although the 2017 Grand Ferrage hasn’t yet been scored by the critics, the entry level Rosé has been scored - with Jeb Dunnuck commenting “[it] keeps you coming back to the glass. It’s perfect for a case purchase for drinking over the coming 6-8 months.” As this cuvee is a step up in quality, our advice is to snap it up while it's still available. The 2016 received the accolade of “Hands down one of the standout Rosés of the year” from Dunnuck, and we think the 2017 is just as impressive, it was very much the standout wine in our recent tasting of around 15 different Rosés. So much so we have moved to be UK exclusive. Classic pale and delicate pink in the glass, with plenty of wild strawberry and cherry aromatics bursting from the glass. Dazzling acidity and a vibrant core of red fruit laced with cool minerality are in perfect balance and give a real sense of tension and energy on the palate. Lovely freshness and Finesse.Effortlessly chic and sophisticated, this is refreshing and delicious Provence Rose at its absolute best.
