Tasting Notes
Dark, silky and inviting with masses of red fruit aromas; cranberry, wild strawberry, redcurrant and spice erupting from the glass. Delicious rich and very pure fruit with an excellent, almost effortless combination of concentration and power that saturates the palate without any sense of heaviness. The tannins are big, serious and support and sustain the fruit perfectly through to a dazzlingly expansive finish of poise, precision and balance. Latricieres lies just to the south of Chambertin and is responsible for spicy and gamey reds that can age beautifully. This is a prime example and captures all of the best aspects of the vintage to result in a delicious 2016 that will be simply stunning when it hits its peak in a few years. By then, however, it will be impossible to source as the sheer rarity and exclusivity mean this will rapidly disappear. Highly recommended and a very strong buy, don’t miss this.
