Tasting Notes
(from .67 ha parcel planted in 1940). This is notably more deeply pitched with its well-layered array of black cherry, dark currant, earth and wisps of forest floor. The suave, rich and caressing medium-bodied flavors brim with sappy dry extract that imparts a seductive texture to the velvety finish that is sneaky long. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes has a floral bouquet, very expressive and charming even at this prenatal stage, with ebullient red cherries and redcurrant fruit, hints of cold stone developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. There is plenty of red berry fruit here, hints of spice and a touch of graphite seeping in towards the composed finish. Very fine.
