The Vauthier family – most famous for owning Ch. Ausone – purchased Ch. Simard in 1954. Since then, the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru has become a source of excellent-value wine in the region.
About the producer
The property’s origins lie in the 1700s, however in the late 19th century it was divided in two by a railroad – constructed with the idea of increasing the region’s exports. The original property therefore became two new estates – Ch. Simard and Ch. Haut-Simard. Today both are owned by the Vauthier family.
