Château Ausone

Ch. Ausone is one of Bordeaux’s most respected estates. At this small property, perched atop a hill overlooking the town of Saint-Emilion, the Vauthier family produces some of the finest wines in the region.

The estate is named after the Roman poet Ausonius who lived in Saint-Emilion from 311-394 AD. The poet was responsible for bringing people to the Saint-Emilion commune after extolling the virtues of its calm climate and identifying it as the perfect place for a peaceful, good life.
