Based in Monthélie, Domaine Potinet-Ampeau is one of few producers that do not sell their wines en primeur. Instead, like Domaine Leroy, they release wines only when deemed ready to drink.
About the producer
The estate was created when the Potinet and Ampeau domaines were united by the marriage of current owner Vincent Durrieu’s grandparents. The first vintage under the new estate was 1951. Domaine Ampeau – from Meursault – was already well known, and was among the first estates to start exporting to the US in the 1920s.
