Under the guidance of Robert Dauvissat, the estate was one of the first to bottle their own wine, from 1931. The reputation of the domaine, however, really rose under Robert’s son, René who took over the estate in 1950. He expanded the domaine’s vineyard holdings, purchasing top parcels in the Grands Crus of Le Clos and Les Preuses, and the Premiers Crus of La Forest and Séchet on Chablis's cooler left bank.
