Cheval Blanc has produced one of the vintage's most serious wines. It’s remarkably deep and dense in the glass, inky and impenetrable. The nose, however, is expressive, with perfumed notes of parma violets and bright, lifted fruit – bursting with just-ripe blackcurrant. There’s juicy finesse to the palate, which is all about its structure. It’s intense with saline, savoury and mineral, with a long, earthy finish. Taut acidity provides the line of the wine, with fine but strict tannins, giving the wine surprising breadth. It’s a beautifully put-together 2024, a wine that stands to attention, suited and booted – but will need time in bottle, best approached from 2032. Aged in 100% new oak, likely to be bottled after 15-16 months. 12.8% alcohol and pH around 3.6. Blend: 48% Cabernet Franc, 46% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon

So succulent and long on the compacted palate, this shows just enough clean ripe berries as well as cedar and chocolate. This has polished, energizing tannins with a lovely and thoughtful drive, the light austerity giving the wine a push in the finish. Only 12.8% alcohol. A blend of 46% merlot, 48% cabernet franc and 6% cabernet sauvignon.
Deep garnet-purple colored. Is quite closed at this youthful stage, offering up a wall of clove oil, cedar, crushed rocks, and sandalwood scents, unfurling to reveal glimpses of red currant preserves, fresh blackberries, red roses, Sichuan pepper, and mint tea. The light-bodied palate is so, so elegant and finely knit, with filigree tannins and seamless freshness framing the perfumed black and red berry layers, finishing with impressive length and a myriad of floral, spice, and mineral nuances. Gorgeous.
Comprised of 37 parcels on the estate and a blend of 48% Cabernet Franc, 46% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2024 Château Cheval Blanc will spend at least 18 months in new barrels. Classic Cheval Blanc Cabernet notes of cassis, spring flowers, graphite, and scorched earth all emerge on the nose, and this beauty is medium to full-bodied, has a beautiful mid-palate, the focused, elegant style of the vintage, and impressive concentration. It's an elegant, very classic Bordelaise vintage for this estate, and the wine will need just 4-6 years of bottle age and will evolve gracefully.
